Not impressed with Amber Valley archives selections

I write to express my concern about the nature of the newspaper articles that were selected from Athabasca Archives' records for publication in “Amber Valley, from the archives” in Town and Country this Week, Feb. 27, 2024.

I write to express my concern about the nature of the newspaper articles that were selected from Athabasca Archives' records for publication in “Amber Valley, from the archives” in Town and Country this Week, Feb. 27, 2024.
While these newspaper articles that she scanned were certainly found in Athabasca Archives’ newspaper clipping file. this is not the kind of content that Athabasca Archives would choose to publish for Black History Month. It speaks to a past that is best left in a previous century and does nothing to promote a helpful or supportive community in 2024. Athabasca Archives has worked hard and is very proud of our relationship with the Amber Valley Community Association and Gil Williams who looks after the Amber Valley Museum. This letter is to state that Athabasca Archives would never have agreed to publish the kind of content that the Athabasca Advocate selected from our records for Black History Month.
