Airdrie's Team Sluchinski won the provincial curling championship on Feb. 11.

After cruising to a 2-0 start at the 2024 Montana's Brier, Team Alberta, skipped by Airdrie's Aaron Sluchinski, suffered two losses during Monday play to fall in the Pool B standings.

Sluchinski's Alberta team lost their first game of the Brier Monday morning against Prince Edward Island 8-5 and then followed it up with another lose the same day to Team Nova Scotia, 6-2. The two losses have pushed SLuchinski and company to fifth place in the Pool B standings.

However, Alberta will get another crack at it when they take on a 3-1 Saskatchewan team today at 1:00 p.m. during Draw 11.

Wednesday's tournament play doesn't look like it will be any easier for Sluchinski and his team. They'll square off against Quebec in one of the first games of Draw 13 and face Pool B's first place team Northwest Territories later in the day.
