Police seek suspects following Olds-area shooting

OLDS – A 47-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital with undetermined injuries after being shot at a rural location southeast of Olds on Friday afternoon, police say.

The shooting occurred near the junction of Twp. Rd 320 and Rge. Rd. 290 in Mountain View County east of Highway 2. Police received a call reporting the incident at about 2 p.m.

The victim, who has not been named, suffered a firearms-related injury and was airlifted to hospital by STARS.

Police are looking for a suspect vehicle described as an older model Infinity SUV, gold in colour with individual lights on the roof that may have three occupants -- two males and a female.

“The public is advised not to approach the suspect vehicle as the occupants are believed to be armed and dangerous,” said RCMP Cpl. Deanna Fontaine.

Anyone encountering the suspect vehicle is being asked to call Olds RCMP at 403-556-3323 or Crime Stoppers.
