Overview: The Athabasca Native Friendship Centre Society has served Urban Indigenous people for over 30 years as a non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of life of Indigenous people residing in the Athabasca area. The Society coordinates several programs to connect Indigenous people with their culture, language and community resources.

Location: Athabasca, AB

Start Date: As soon as a suitable candidate is determined


•    Establish organizational objectives and execute plans to achieve them

•    Plan and allocate finances, human resources, and material management to implement organizational policies and programs

•    Serve as the organization’s representative internally and externally

Requirements (or Qualifications):

•    Extensive managerial skills and ability to take leadership role

•    Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as a leader

•    A university degree in business administration, commerce or other discipline related to the service provided is required.

•    Several years of professional experience in a leadership role, reporting to a Board of Directors.

•    Cultural competence is a must.

•    Specialization in all aspects of program development, delivery, and evaluation.

•    Evidence of successful acquisition of program funding, utilizing applicable analysis of the programs and services required.
