Hello, I am Neveah (Heaven.) I am yet another example of a SCARS sweet success story. I came into care experiencing so much stress that I almost felt like I would not be able to trust humans again. Fast forward with help from the vet and some calming help, a belly full of food, some space and time and a gentle touch, and I have a new perspective! I can still be pretty prickly when I don't feel secure, but I have come leaps and bounds. My coat is so unusual and beautiful that you must meet me in person to appreciate it. I am a short hair feline, but my fur is very dense. I have been described as a relative to a chinchilla which I think is completely accurate. I am black on top but the bottom of my fur is white. That is to say, that each of my hairs is two colors. I do not have a double coat. It is actually one two colored coat. I think that makes me very special. Watch my video and you can see that my fur seems to change color as I am brushed backwards. My fur is also very soft and I just loved to be brushed endlessly. I first came into foster care with a family who had young children and other pets. I was very unable to cope in that environment. When I landed at my latest foster home, they were wary of me. I was feeling defensive and it made me hissy and unapproachable. I was given lots of personal space and eventually, I started to come out of my shell. I will now sit on a lap for as long as that lap is available. I really enjoy a good scratch and grooming. I do not allow myself to be picked up at this point, but maybe I will relent on that in the future. Because I can be defensive sometimes, my foster parents watch for my signals and allow me to set the pace. For this reason, I would be better in a home without younger children. I have been extremely patient when visitors come into the house, and even go up for pets and smells. I have perfect litter manners. I was very skinny when I came to SCARS but now I am eating like a champ. I like to drink water and I have started to learn to play with toys and cat wands.I am such a gorgeous kitty and am just so happy to be in a safe place. I deserve a calm and easy life and I can't wait to start my next new life with you.
