Hello, my name is Violet and I'm a one year old female. I am little shy, but my love of people shines through. I love cuddles, I am world class at requesting, and receiving, belly rubs. if I was allowed on the couch, which I am currently not, we could be sitting side-by-side cuddling for hours. I find all the ways to get cuddles. Sitting under your chair until you are done work. I will walk up the stairs with you as close as possible, so you don't forget me, or walk safely. I'm a little nervous around new things. For example, leashes are new to me. I like to sit down and have a think about it whenever one gets put on my neck. Then I go limp and wait for the belly rubs to show I'm not scared of you, just the leash. This is something I am learning about. Treats help me to learn. Another new thing I'm nervous about is kennels. I am learning to go into them but won't do it without a lot of encouragement and treats. I do sleep all through the night once I'm in. And I stay quietly, when you have to leave me in during the day. Did you know, jumping up to tell you I love you, or that I love what's on your counter, is not socially acceptable? I did not know this. It would help me a lot if you had a dog that will show me, the appropriate way for me to tell you I love you (and to help me get food off the counter.) Every day I relax a little more and I've started to play with chew toys. Shoes are not chew toys, just learned that too. If you love giving belly rubs, and you have a kind dog to show me all the things I need to learn, press adopt me.
