T&M 4-H Club is coming to you in many ways but this one is the best – the classic newspaper article!

There is a lot to talk about at the start of a 4-H year starting with who I am and why I am writing this article for you. My name is Kort Hillmer and I am an intermediate member in the T&M 4-H Club. This year I am doing Market Beef, Carcass Beef and Heifer. I am the role of Club Reporter and my job is to write articles for the newspaper, do posts on Facebook and lots more.

On Nov. 17 2023 we had our Annual General Meeting where we elected our president, Ashlyn Hillmer, vice-president Shelten Grabler, secretary Vivian MacKenzie, treasurer Kaylea Hillmer and photographer Landon MacKevinzie. We have a total of 17 members and three cleavers in our club.

We have a lot of different projects like Market Beef, Carcass Beef, Heifer, Two-Year-Old Cow/Calf and Three-Year-Old Cow/Calf, Market Lamb, Ewe Lamb, Flock and (possibly coming) Carcass Lamb), Market Rabbit and Breeding Doe. We also offer Woodworking, Canine, Entomology and Cleaver.

In December, members helped out at Fill the Sleigh at the Red Apple in Barrhead. Hopefully, our members are working on their speeches or presentations because our Club Communciations event is on Feb. 17.

Our club has been operating for 59 years, soon to be 60 next fall in which we hope to celebrate this huge milestone.
