A Walk To Remember

The fifth annual Sisters In Spirit Walk and Vigil was held in Athabasca last Thursday to raise awareness of violence against aboriginal women and honour victims of such crimes. Before the walk, six-year-old Savannah Calahesin participated in smudging, which is done to cleanse oneself and bring good thoughts and spirits to a ceremony.
