Once again the Athabasca River is under a high stream flow advisory. Carrie Sancartier from Alberta Environment said the river is expected to rise, but doesn’t know how much.
“Many advisories have been downgraded, but other rivers continue to rise,” she said.
The advisory will be in effect until flooding of the river is no longer a risk.
It was only a few weeks ago when the Athabasca River broke over the banks, and with all the rain in the forecast, it could rise even further.
