Athabasca RCMP are continuing to investigating a reported assault of a Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) volunteer on Saturday, May 26 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The female adult volunteer for SCARS was walking two rescue dogs near the facility when she was assaulted by an adult male who ran off on foot after the incident. The female sustained a minor physical injury.
The male subject is described as being caucasian, approximately 25-30 years old, and weighs between 170-200 pounds. At the time of the assault, the subject was wearing a green plaid jacket and a red hat.
