HALIFAX — The union representing locked out professors at Atlantic Canada's largest university says its members have voted to reject the school’s latest contract offer.
The Dalhousie Faculty Association says it voted 83 per cent against the offer from the university’s board of governors.
On Wednesday, Dalhousie University locked out about 1,000 professors, librarians and other teaching staff less than two weeks before the start of the fall term.
The faculty association has listed the main issues in dispute as wages and the university's reliance on limited-term contracts.
It has said that it is looking for wages that keep up with inflation and make up for a nine per cent loss in real wages over the past 10 years.
The current contract agreement expired on June 30.
