BARRHEAD - The Barrhead RCMP are looking for the public's help to apprehend the person who broke into the Barrhead Laundromat.

On Dec. 22, at about 4 a.m., a suspect, which police believe could be either male or female, was dressed in a dark green hoody gained entry into the laundromat by smashing glass in the front door.

Const. Nathan Chin said police believe the suspect probably used a crowbar or a metal pipe to smash through the door.

Once inside, he added the suspect walked to the corner machine and removed the coin boxes from two washing machines.

According to the laundromat's owner, Chin said there was likely less than $20 from the two coin boxes combined.

"But the damage they caused far outweighs anything they received," he said
