For more than a quarter century the Barrhead Royal Canadian Legion Branch #75 have a long-standing tradition of honouring deceased members of Canada’s Armed Forces by placing a memorial token on the gravesites of area veterans.

In October, volunteers continued the tradition, by planting more than 200 Canadian flags on the graves of fallen soldiers in the Barrhead Field of Honour cemetery.

The Anglican Church donated the cemetery in 1925, for the sole purpose of honouring Barrhead’s veterans.

On the morning of Dec. 30, the Barrhead Leader visited the Field of Honour to see what the Legion’s efforts looked like in the winter. This is what they saw.
