Make the Connection Event is coming up fast, planned for September 5

Barrhead's Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is hosting a “Make the Connection” event Sept. 5 at the Barrhead Curling Rink.

This is a fantastic event where after school clubs, athletic groups, kids programs and adult extra-curricular activity interests are all set up in one place.

Barrhead residents can have a one-on-one discussion and get all the details you need to make decisions about your activities for the fall and winter.

Groups that want to be present at the showcase and share all their wonderful information about themselves with residents should register now with FCSS,” said Leah Jackson, program coordinator.

“It's also important that we let community members know when the event happens so they can plan to attend and register for all the activities they are interested in.”

Last year, there were 40 vendors who were at the showcase, and the turn-out was outstanding.

Barrhead community residents came out in droves for information, to sign up for services and activities and get some surprises while in attendance.

This event offers interesting organizations that suit children, youth, adults and families in the community.

Pembina West Co-op is sponsoring the BBQ and the event runs from 3:30 pm to 7 pm.

There will be free hotdogs for the first folks to arrive, limited quantities so get there early.

Tables booked already include the Misty Ridge Ski Club, yoga groups, and a wellness collective, including counselling.

There are 20 groups already booked. Call or visit the FCSS office today to register for your table.

Residents book your calendar for Sept. 5 so you don’t forget this opportunity to see a spectrum of groups, clubs and businesses you might be interested in exploring.
