The Barrhead Orioles had their hopes of playing in the North Central Alberta Baseball League (NCABL) playoffs dashed following a 12-6 loss on July 30 at home to the Legal Primeaus, who, with the win, secured the final playoff spot. Barrhead started the game well, scoring the first two runs while blanking the opposition in the first inning.
Unfortunately, the second inning saw the visitors outscore the birds four to one. The third inning would see the teams trade two runs each before blanking the middle innings. The final two innings would see Legal extend its lead, outscoring Barrhead 6 to 1.
