The Fort Assiniboine Fire Department held a preview of its Haunted House on Thompson Road on Saturday, Oct. 28, in a preview of its proper unveiling on Halloween.
In addition to the haunted house, visitors could play on an abbreviated miniature golf course, play other carnival-style games, and have a hot chocolate before collecting their Halloween treats. All the activities were free, and patrons were encouraged to donate to the Barrhead Food Bank, which also serves Fort Assiniboine.
Fort Assiniboine fire chief Devin Williams said it was the second year the department hosted the event.
"Everything is donated, and our firefighters do the work," he said, adding it was quite an undertaking.
Williams said it took over two weeks to transform their three-see-can training village into the haunted house.
