Hillcrest Lodge in Barrhead will be on lockdown for at least the next 28-days after a resident tested positive for the coronavirus.

BARRHEAD - A Hillcrest Lodge resident has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

That is according to an Oct. 26 media release posted by the Barrhead and District Social Housing Association.

The release goes on to state that the resident is not displaying any symptoms and is now in isolation for 14-days. All residents, tenants and staff were tested on Friday, Oct. 23.

The release states that the facility will be on lockdown for a minimum of 28-days starting Oct. 26.

In a previous press release, posted on the association's website on Oct. 23, it states that the mass testing was conducted due to a positive test result by an employee two days earlier. However, the employee had not worked since Oct. 16 and was not displaying any symptoms.

“We are committed to doing everything in our power to protect our residents and staff,” the release states. “We will post more information as it becomes available.”
