BARRHEAD – It’s here! Friday, Dec. 6 starting at 5:30 p.m. This incredible night of merrymaking begins with the parade of the season on Main Street.

“There's something for you at all ages and it's bigger and better than last year,” said Trisha Enman, one of the event organizers.

“The businesses and community are coming together to enjoy a fantastic celebration.”

At 5:30 p.m. be in front of the ScotiaBank to welcome Santa and kick off the parade.

The parade will astound onlookers with the sentiment of the season.

There will be hotdogs to enjoy in front of Ripple Connection sponsored by Freson Bros., with proceeds going to non-profits, hosted by the Renegades.

Barrhead Custom Meats will be cooking up their special barbeque in front of their location.

Hot chocolate goodness can be found at six locations along Main Street.

Beth Kryger and friends will be performing live music followed by Hum & Strum.

Pictures can be taken with Santa with the kids in front of the Flower Shoppe or have Chase Moments Photography take them for you.

Sleigh rides, with Mule Skinners, starting in front of Red Baron, will amuse the riders as they travel in style around town.

Fire pits will be stationed for a warmup between the TD Bank and Tim Hortons.

Cookie Decorating and crafts will be happening in the United Church, sponsored by Barrhead Bakery and Communities in Bloom.

The Roxy Theatre has The Grinch movie playing after all the outside enjoyment which is free to attend at 8 p.m.

Kids will enjoy the Passport to Christmas, encouraging them to visit eight of the elves hanging out on Main Street to get a special treat and get their passports stamped. Once the passports are complete they can be dropped off at the Barrhead Bakery to be entered for one of three prizes.

Colouring pages done by community children will be displayed at Cruizy Smoothies, Barrhead Shoes, Culture Shock, and John’s Menswear. Kids can find their colouring pages and get a prize on the evening of December 6th during the activities.

Kids can also communicate with the big guy by writing a letter to Santa at Cruizy Smoothies and Treats.
