BARRHEAD – The Alberta Trail Ride Association is a trail ride on May 17 starting at 11 am and are inviting riders to join for a good cause, Little Warriors.

Base camp is at the Fort Assiniboine Sandhills Wildland Provincial Park with amazing trail that tracks along the Klondike Trail.

“Hopefully we can get some more riders out,” said Cindy Hanas, one of the event organizers.

Last year there were 45 riders, and it is a great opportunity to meet people, share a trail ride, and have a great time.

There will be one checkpoint at the base camp and three checkpoints out on the trail.

The last checkpoint is at base camp at the Wierengas.

Water is available for horses but bring your own bucket.

They have a very extensive silent auction with all the proceeds going to Little Warriors.

There is going to be a 50/50 draw.

Last year Margaret Wierenga had sold $1000 worth of tickets.

The Alberta Trail Ride Association has raised money for the Little Warriors for the last three years.
