The RCMP are continuing their investigation into the disappearance of Patricia Jane Livingston, whose vehicle was found north of Fort Assiniboine a week ago. However, their efforts to locate her in the area from the ground and air are now concluded.

BARRHEAD - After a week of combing the area where her van was located, RCMP are calling off any further ground and air searches in an attempt to find a missing 72-year-old woman.

Patricia Jane Livingston had previously been spotted in Barrhead on July 6. Her 2012 Dodge Caravan was found apparently stuck in the mud in an isolated area approximately 50 kilometres north of Fort Assiniboine on July 16. At the time, there was no indication of foul play.

Since then, Barrhead RCMP have been joined in their investigation by two members of the Edmonton West Police Dog Service, the Edmonton General Investigative Unit, an RCMP helicopter, the Redwater Forensic Collision Reconstruction Unit, Parkland RCMP and the Edmonton Forensic Identification Section.

Despite searching the area using ATVs, horses, dogs and drones, they have had no success. The RCMP continue to look for her, but they will not be conducting ground and air searches.

Livingston’s van was returned to her family.

If you have seen the missing woman or know of her whereabouts, please contact the Barrhead RCMP at (780) 674-2696 or your local police.
