It is a great pleasure to bring seasons greetings on behalf of the council and staff of the County of Barrhead.
We all wish you the very best of the Festive Season, and hope you enjoy the time spent with family and friends.
Two thousand and seventeen was a challenging year for the council and staff of the County of Barrhead. The weather wrecked havoc with the gravel roads. They simply would not dry out. Thank you everyone for your patience and to public works staff for getting the roads into shape as fast as you did.
Also, I am pleased to report that due to the hard work of administration and the leadership of council, agreements are now in place between the County of Barrhead and the Town of Barrhead for regional fire services and recreation. Both agreements are fair and reasonable for all parties.
Council is looking forward to 2018. Our local economy is strong and there are some exciting developments on the horizon. What ever the outcome, let it be clear that the council of the County of Barrhead is working for you and toward the betterment of the entire community.
