The search is on for two men suspected of stealing a cell phone from a vehicle and breaking into a business just outside of Boyle July 12.

RCMP released photos of two suspects who allegedly stole the phone, broke into a separate business outside of Boyle and who attempted to ram a police vehicle, according to a July 13 RCMP press release. The suspect vehicle was later found at Amisk Lake, but police were unable to locate the suspects in the area.

RCMP media relations Cpl. Ronald Bumbry said anyone who recognizes these individuals should contact Boyle RCMP immediately.

"When these types of things do occur, whereas the suspects are attempting to ram a police vehicle, we just want the public to be aware not to approach them," Bumbry said in an interview.

Police responded to a call about the break-and-enter at 5 p.m. July 12, the press release said. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but were unable to do so.

Bumbry said the suspects drove and attempted to ram a police vehicle in the way, but did not make contact.

"The suspect vehicle then approached the (police) vehicle in a dangerous manner," Bumbry said. "Was able to get out around the positioned vehicles and did not hit our vehicle, but definitely was coming towards them."

RCMP pursued the suspects but quickly terminated the search in the interests of public safety, the release said. The suspect vehicle was reported stolen and found near a rural campsite at Amisk Lake.

"Boyle RCMP with assistance from St. Paul Police Dog Services (PDS), and RCMP Air Services searched the area for the suspects for several hours but they were not located," the press release said.

Details on the damage to the business broken into was not available, Bumbry said. He added nothing was reported as stolen from the business, but RCMP recovered items from the suspect vehicle that are thought to be stolen.

Bumbry described the two men as caucasian. He said one man is approximately aged 45-60, was wearing a cross necklace, blue shirt, jeans, work boots and an Under Armour hat. The other man was wearing shorts, a grey sweater, sunglasses and white sneakers.

He added a press release would be issued if the suspects are caught.
