The Edmonton Antique Car Club will stop in Athabasca and Barrhead as it showing vehicles from days long past with its Oldies Tour 2018 July 25 to 28.

The annual event features members of the club driving throughout the province, displaying their vehicles at multiple communities in the province. This year, the club is travelling through Northern Alberta, visiting Barrhead July 25, Athabasca July 26, Smoky Lake July 27 and Bruderheim July 28.

Tour co-organizer Chris Bamford said there are not many events appreciating really older cars and this is an opportunity to the club to drive them.

"We're a club that enjoys not only socialization, but driving our cars," Bamford said. "We like to get out and not only show our cars but drive them and see interesting places."

The cars range from 1904 to 1976, including four Ford Motel T, Bamford said. A total of 17 cars and 29 people will participate in the tour.

"We pick generally slower roads, less busy," Bamford said. "Athabasca seems like a pretty good stop along the way.
