Deceased male found at Lake Annette in Jasper

The Lake Annette area in Jasper was closed on Tuesday, Nov. 21 after the body of a deceased male was discovered.

The Lake Annette area in Jasper was closed on Tuesday, Nov. 21 after the body of a deceased male was discovered.

The Jasper RCMP investigated with the help of the Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services and the Jasper National Park Visitor Safety Team.

Investigators made a positive identification and efforts were immediately underway to notify the next of kin.

The cause of death has yet to be determined and the file is still under investigation. No further information was released.

There was no concern for public safety. The area reopened by Wednesday morning.
