Two men in Airdrie were arrested on outstanding warrants on Jan. 16, and now face multiple charges related to operation of a stolen vehicle and possession of illegal or stolen items.

According to Airdrie RCMP, officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the Luxstone neighborhood on Jan. 16.

“Upon arrival, the investigating officer located a male sitting in a vehicle and determined that he had outstanding warrants,” a press release from the detachment stated. “The male was arrested for his warrants. It was also determined that the vehicle he was in was stolen, as well as a second vehicle parked beside it.”

Two more males were arrested at the residence, according to RCMP's press release.

The Airdrie Crime Reduction Unit assisted with the investigation and a search warrant for the residence was obtained. As a result of the search warrant, officers seized the shells of 10 to 12 catalytic converters, two intact catalytic converters, five loaded firearms (one of which was sawed off), illegal body armour, multiple tools and weapons, and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Airdronian Jordan Travis Kerrivan now faces multiple charges, including three counts of possession of stolen property, five counts of unauthorized firearm possession, and five counts of failure to comply with conditions.

Airdrie resident Luke Baker, 36, was also arrested on outstanding warrants and charged. He faces three counts of stolen property possession, identity fraud, and obstruction of a police officer.

Kerrivan and Baker were held for Judicial Interim Release Hearings. According to Airdrie RCMP,  Kerrivan was scheduled to have his hearing on Jan. 18. Baker was released on $50 cash bail and will be appearing in Airdrie Provincial Court on Jan. 20.
