As in past sales, a donation heifer is presented by Dutch auction, with each $10 ticket purchasing one opportunity to win the heifer in a draw at the end of the sale — proceeds will go back into the community. Prior to this year’s sale, the annual donation heifer draw has raised over $65,000 for the Ag Society and $20,000 to other causes that has helped out in the Barrhead area. This year’s heifer was donated by Cinder Angus, CIND 223H, an April 5, 2020 Commercial heifer. The heifer was won by Plummer Land & Cattle of Sangudo. Although no official figure of how much the heifer raised, a running tally of bids prior to the start of the sale was over $4,500.
