Every December the Westlock News asks area schools to submit the letters their students write to Santa — this year the letters appeared in the Dec. 13 and 20 print editions. Here’s a sampling of what they wrote.

Westlock Elementary School Letters to Santa - Grade 3A

Dear Santa,

I wish the war would stop. I wish everyone could get along. I wish it could stop so people can stay friends.

From,

Connor

Dear Santa,

I want this for the world on Christmas: no littering, no smoking, no garbage in the water. Homeless people go to a hotel. For people to have a good Christmas, and for people to have a family.

From,

Serenity

Dear Santa,

I feel bad for people that are homeless and that don’t have a lot of money. I think everyone should have Christmas. Can you stop war and get rid of Covid? Can you stop people from cutting down trees and stop people from littering? I just want people to be happy and joyful and live with their family. The world needs you. You need your elves just  like we need you.

From,

Griffin

Dear Santa,

I am giving you this letter because this year I’m wishing for the war to stop. I don’t want more people to die. I hope the homeless people find a place to sleep and stay warm.

From,

Greyson

Dear Santa,

I want people to stop cutting down trees because trees give us air. I hope everyone stays healthy and that sickness goes away.

From,

Blake

Dear Santa,

I am writing this letter for one thing. I wish you could stop war, covid, flooding, and car accidents.

From,

Tavis

Dear Santa,

Can you do the world a favor? Here it is! On Christmas, don't just give toys, give medicine for the illness of Covid, sniffles, coughs and all sickness of the whole world.

From,

William

Dear Santa,

There are wars going on still and some are on Christmas day. There are lots of people that still rolling down their windows and throwing out plastic and  some animals have got plastic stuck around their necks. Some people are starting fires even though there are signs that say it is too dry for fires and people don’t read signs and just think nothing will happen.

From,

Avenley

Dear Santa,

I hope the world will see this letter. I want Covid to stop before Christmas.  I want war to stop now. I want people to be happy on Christmas, I want people to take care of the earth. I want people to stop cutting down trees.  I want people to have joy on Christmas. I want kids to play nice, people to stop littering, and for people to raise money to get a nice place to live in.

From, Deacon

Dear Santa,

I wish you could stop world pollution because people are dying. Please stop the war for everyone and make peace instead. I wish for the homeless to have a place to stay and have an elf. I wish everyone could be happy and joyful on Christmas day.

From,

Gabriella

Dear Santa,

I am writing this letter for the entire world. I wish that the animals would not go extinct. I want people to stop cutting down trees.  I also want people to put their garbage in a garbage can and not on the ground.

From,

Logan

Dear Santa,

I wish that Covid wasn’t here because people are sick and dying. Please try to let it stop. Please stop the people from cutting down trees or else the animals will die. Try to stop the war so people can have Christmas in peace. Stop the people from littering because the water animals can die from the plastic.

Dear Santa,

I feel bad for the people in the war right now. I feel really bad for the people that are homeless and living under a tarp right now, please help them. Help the people who are sick and help all that are poor and help families get together.

From,

Jillian

Dear Santa,

I wish for global warming to stop and I’m wishing for this for the world, not me. So, people need to stop polluting and I'm wishing this on Christmas so no one will have to worry about it on Christmas day. But for that to happen, people will have to turn off all the factories and gas trucks and cars so electric cars and trucks will be able to drive around, and if you don't have an electric car or truck you can ride a bike to work or school for the day. I’m saying all this because Antarctica is rapidly melting and the polar bears are going extinct.

From, Elliott

Dear Santa,

For this Christmas I want people to stop cutting down trees. If you cut down all the rainforests and oak trees we won't be able to breathe. I am writing to you because this has been bothering me alot. Please Santa, can you try and stop people from cutting down trees? If you can,  me and the world would be so happy! Please tell the people to stop littering and throwing  plastic on the ground. I think the world and the people on it would love to see the world nice and healthy. I love it when people are stopping and smelling the flowers.

From,

Nova

Dear Santa,

My wish this Christmas is for people to be grateful for what they have. Grateful for health, for the people who love them, for the warmth of a home and for the love shared. The gift of a hug, the smile given to a stranger or the simple word of  “thanks” are all gifts that warm the heart. A verbal thank you when a door is held open, a smile from a  stranger while waiting in line at the grocery store or the note found on the desk saying “ You've got this!” are the true gifts for Christmas. Santa, help us care for each other.

From,

Mrs. Arndt
