Lac La Biche - A 54-year-old Plamondon man is dead following a two-vehicle collision near Plamondon Aug. 4, while the driver of the second vehicle is facing charges.
Lac La Biche RCMP were called to the scene of a head-on collision on Birch Grove Road, north of Plamondon, at approximately 4:26 a.m., and found two SUVs had collided. The man was declared deceased on the scene while the other driver was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, RCMP stated in an Aug. 5 press release.
Ignaty Scherbakov, 48, of Plamondon was released after a judical hearing and is scheduled to appear in Lac La Biche Provincial Court Aug. 31.
RCMP collision analysts continue to investigate.
