First COVID-19 death in Westlock

WESTLOCK — The Westlock area recorded its first COVID-19 casualty.

A man in his 90s who was a patient at the Westlock Continuing Care Centre passed away Nov. 27.

The facility has been on outbreak since Nov. 16, after four patients and one staff member tested positive.

Three more people have tested positive over the weekend. There are 10 active cases in the area, and 62 people have recovered. The area covers the Town of Westlock, Westlock County and the Village of Clyde.
