An early morning fire on Dec. 15 destroyed a mobile home near Tiger Lily.
Shortly before 7 a.m. Barrhead Regional Fire Services (BRFS) were called out to a structure fire on Highway 763 about 30 minutes out of Barrhead.
Fire chief Gary Hove said when firefighters arrived they found the mobile home engulfed in flames.
"The owners reported it but the fire had been going for some time before they noticed it," he said, adding the home was unoccupied.
Although Hove said the area near Tiger Lily has a lot of trees, the property with the mobile home is open with no other structures around it so it was easily contained.
Unfortunately, he said by the time fire crews arrived there was very little they could do.
"The fire had already broken outside the trailer and once that happens they go very quickly, he said.
About a dozen BRFS firefighters attended. They also received support from the Fort Assiniboine Fire Department who supplied three firefighters along with a water tender.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Hove does not believe it to be suspicious.
"It looks like it might have started from a wood stove," he said, adding the owners used the stove a day before the fire.
