One more case of COVID-19 was reported in Athabasca County Aug. 6, bringing the total number of cases to seven, three of which are active.

ATHABASCA - One more active case of coronavirus has been reported in Athabasca County bringing the total to seven since the pandemic was declared.

The Alberta government's geospatial map added one more active case in the county today. The exact location of those infected is not known as the map only shows the number of active cases, recovered cases and total cases.

Two other active cases in the county were reported Tuesday, along with a single active case in Westlock County, which has been confirmed by the Town of Westlock to be an employee of the town's recreation facility, the Rotary Spirit Centre. Including the active case from earlier this week, Westlock County has seen three cases in all, with the other two having recovered. Only two cases have been reported in the County of Barrhead and they are dated.

The additional case in Athabasca County comes on a day where the province announced 58 additional active cases and two more deaths. There are now 1,107 active cases, with 76 hospitalizations, including 19 that are currently in intensive care. The death toll now sits at 205.
