Two dead after Friday night collision

BOYLE - Two Edmonton truck drivers are dead following a Friday night collision on Highway 63 near Boyle.

An RCMP media release received Monday reported Boyle RCMP responded at approximately 9 p.m. to the head-on collision between northbound and southbound semi-tractor trailer units on the infamous highway, just south of the turn to Highway 663 to Colinton and Athabasca.

"Both male drivers of each vehicle ... were pronounced deceased at the scene. An adult male passenger in the southbound semi-tractor trailer unit suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital."

RCMP advise the Boyle detachment along with the RCMP collision analyst will continue to investigate, but advised the names of the two men, aged 49 and 32, will not be released and no further updates are expected.
