Two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Westlock area since Nov. 23.

WESTLOCK — Two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Westlock area since yesterday, Nov. 23.

Currently, 15 cases are active and another 53 have recovered. Since the pandemic started, 68 people have tested positive, and no deaths have been recorded.

Today, Alberta recorded another 1,112 new cases. Hospitalizations rose to 348 and 66 people are in ICU. Sixteen people have died in the last 24 hours, which brings the death toll in Alberta to 492.

New measures

Premier Jason Kenney is set to announce new health measures this afternoon — be sure to check back for more. Alberta’s chief medical officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw, who will be giving daily updates this week, said yesterday that she was making new recommendations to the Priorities Implementation Cabinet Committee.
