WESTLOCK – Water service for downtown-area residents was restored around 9:30 p.m. last night as crews were able to fix a waterline break they had been working on since noon.

At 4:20 p.m., water service was turned off on the following streets: 107th Street from 102nd Avenue to 103rd Avenue, 106th Street from 101st Avenue to Highway 44 and 105th Street from 102nd Avenue to Highway 44. Traffic on 107th Street, between 102nd and 103rd Avenues, was down to a single lane throughout the afternoon as crews investigated the source of the break. With the line now repaired crews are slated to finish backfilling today, Feb. 24.

Updates on the work will be available at the town's Facebook page well as the Westlock Regional Notification System.
