100 golfers were out on the course for the Koch Ford Men’s Open at the Athabasca Golf Club last weekend.
With a pair of sunny days to enjoy, the golfers played 18 holes on both Saturday and Sunday. When the scores were tallied, it was Mikkel Holt who had come out on top and won the championship with scores of 75 and 72 in his two rounds. He earned a trophy as well as $250 for his efforts.
Club pro and event organizer Kyle Stewart had words of thanks for all of the golfers who made the event a success, as well as the course crew for keeping it in such great shape and the Fox Den Grill for providing two great meals. He also thanked Koch Ford for their sponsorship.
Still to come this summer is the club championship, as well as the ladies and senior open events.
“It went great,” said Stewart.
