Badminton players show their class in Whitecourt

They competed fiercely. And just as importantly they displayed class and pride. Coach Kyle Becker had nothing but praise for Barrhead Composite High School badminton players after their performance in Whitecourt.

They competed fiercely. And just as importantly they displayed class and pride.

Coach Kyle Becker had nothing but praise for Barrhead Composite High School badminton players after their performance in Whitecourt.

The team took part in the Senior High Conference badminton last Thursday and met the early season challenge with skill and tenacity.

“All of our team members competed well and represented the school and the community with class and pride,” said Becker last Friday.

The results of the Conference competition are:

Jr. Boys Singles: 2. Coltin Demuth; Jr. Girls Singles: 2. Tania Chilito

Int. Girls Singles: 2. Shonda Rossman

Sr. Boys Singles: 2. Brandon Whiting; Sr. Girls Singles: 1. Hayley Gottschalk

Jr. Boys Doubles: 1. Brett Bujold/Nikko Koberstein; Jr. Girls Doubles: 1. Hannah Schuring/Stephanie Leonard

Int. Boys Doubles: 1. Justin Koch/Nate Meinema

Sr. Boys Doubles: 1. Tim Tuininga/Conner Tiemsta

Int. Mixed: 1. David Wingrove/Avery Tarasuik

Sr. Mixed: 1. Jaclyn Fischer/Joel Johnson

The seventeen players listed above will represent BCHS at the zone competition at the school on Tuesday, starting at 1:30 p.m.
