Barrhead host the best of junior high school basketball

The Barrhead senior boys Jaguars came up one game short of capturing the divisional title.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, Barrhead Composite High School (BCHS) hosted a one-day tournament, 14 teams, seven boys and seven girls, featuring the best teams in the region.

On the boys’ side the BCHS senior Jaguars defeated teams from Clyde, St. Mary Catholic School before losing to Westlock’s R.F. Staples 66 to 38. The Neerlandia boys Eagles won the consolation final.

On the girls side, BCHS defeated Pembina North finishing third.
