It was a close game.

Despite a decision by coach Jared Stranaghan to pull goaltender Keaton Branden late in the third period, the New Sarepta Eagles defeated the Barrhead Pirates 4-2 in a bantam regular season match-up, at the Agrena Nov. 10.

New Sarepta went on the offensive early, scoring a pair of goals in the first period that Barrhead was unable to answer.

In the second period, both teams began to collect penalties — the Eagles garnered four and the Pirates collected three but the score remained 0-2 for Barrhead.

However, ten seconds into the third period, Pirates’ player Kaleb Timm managed to sneak one past Eagles goalie Ashton Perry, with an assist from Kayden Harder and Kyle Kleinfeldt.

Barrhead’s Zack Kerr followed Timm’s goal with one of his own ten minutes later and tied the game 2-2.

Unfortunately the tie was not to last.

New Sarepta rallied and scored with four minutes on the clock, bringing the score to 2-3 and cemented their victory with the final goal of the game with 13 seconds on the clock.

The game ended 2-4 for New Sarepta.
