Despite the swarms of gnats and chilly morning air, more than 80 people took part in the 2nd annual Fit for Motion Half Marathon in Barrhead on Saturday, September 12. According to Murray Tuininga, there were 22 soloists, three two-person teams and 12 four-person teams involved in the competition. The event was held to promote fitness in the community and to raise money for the Barrhead Aquatic Centre.

Participants were given a choice between water or gatorade to help them to remain hydrated during lap intervals.
