The new season of gymnastics is under way and the coaching staff at FLIPS Gymnastics is ready to get going.

While training and classes began in September, things really got going last Friday with the club hosting an open house at their facility on the Agri-plex grounds.

Head coach Jayme Robillard and her staff of three coaches, as well as eight coaches in training, help operate the club that runs classes four days a week in addition to training 15 competitive gymnasts.

Those athletes, which include four boys, are busy preparing for meets that start in January.

“This is the first year that many of them will compete in more than one meet, so it’s a huge deal for them,” said Robillard.

“They train her three hours a day three times a week and we put them through lots of conditioning. Yet, we try to keep it all fun, but they all really love gymnastics to that makes it easier.”

Robillard added seeing all the kids and interest that the open house generated is great and bodes well for the club’s future.
