The Barrhead Midget Renegades, Tier 4, team hosted the Winfield Ducks on Friday, Oct. 31 at the Barrhead Agrena.
Rather than participate in the Halloween Festivities, the players were more than happy to hit the ice for one of their first season home games.
The first period started out strongly for the team.
Just a mere 90 seconds into the game, a goal was scored by Renegades player Kaleb Walker.
Tristan Kramer of the Ducks, turned the game around, scoring for his team, bringing it to a score of 1-1.
The second period saw three goals in total; the first two went to the Ducks, with Briley Stephen scoring for the team.
The Renegades didn’t let Ducks take all three, and scored themselves, with 3:30 left in the game.
Tyler Nicholson scored the for the team, with a score of 3-2 for the Ducks going into the next period.
The final period saw more action, with four goals being scored. The first to score was the Ducks, by player Joe Harden, who charged the net, deking around the goalie, sneaking the puck into the left side of the net.
With nearly nine minutes left in the game, Renegades player Dustin Kochan scored a goal, followed shortly by Brandon Critchley.
The Ducks scored two more before the buzzer, with Darrien Johnson, and Brent Delyster both scoring for their team.
The final score was 6-4 for the Ducks.
Throughout the game several different penalties were given out to both teams, these penalties included tripping, slashing, cross checking, interference, unsportsmanlike conduct, and roughing.
