The Barrhead Midget Steelers played their first home preseason game on Sunday, Oct. 12 at the Barrhead Agrena against the Smoky Lake Stars.
Within minutes of the first period a goal was score by the Steelers, by player Koby Adams.
Five more goals were scored before the intermission by players Tanner Whiting, Brad Bujold, Declan Kummer, and Dylan Callihoo, scoring two goals.
The first period ended with a score of 6-0, but not without seeing a few penalties. These penalties varied from interference, tripping, slashing, charging, and hooking.
Going into the second period the Steelers scored another three goals, the first by Kummer, and the following two by Whiting.
Roughing, interference, slashing and tripping were some of the penalties given during the period.
The third proved just as successful for the Steelers, with another five goals for the team.
Adams, Callihoo, Lee Worobec, Whiting, and Nathan Schmidt all scored during the period.
The final score was a total of 13-0 for the Steelers, with the third period still seeing some penalties.
Roughing, tripping, and cross checking were the penalties given to the teams.
