Team spirit keeps team alive during weekend tournament

The Barrhead Novice Bruins and Thunder used their team spirit to keep smiles on their faces as they played tough teams during their weekend tournament on Saturday, Feb. 7, and Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Barrhead Agrena.

The Barrhead Novice Bruins and Thunder used their team spirit to keep smiles on their faces as they played tough teams during their weekend tournament on Saturday, Feb. 7, and Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Barrhead Agrena.

The Bruins played their first game on Saturday morning against the St. Alberta Titans in a game that ended on a negative for the home team.

The first period was played strongly by both teams, with the Bruins taking a 2-1 lead going into the second period.

Lucas Begert, and Julian Sutherland scored for the Bruins in the first.

Turning the second period around, the Titans pulled up their socks and brought the score up to 2-2.

The third period was where the game turned around, with the Titans scoring five goals within the 20-minute period.

The first game of the tournament ended with a final score of 6-2 for the Titans.

The Barrhead Thunder also played their first game on Saturday morning against the Sturgeon Mustangs.

Things were looking good for the team in the first period, ending 1-0 for the Thunder, with Tayson Hallock scoring for the Barrhead team.

The Mustangs were quick to catch up, and scored not only one, but three goals during the second period.

The Thunder also scored during the second at 17:30.

No goals were scored during the third, with the game ending 3-2 for the Mustangs.
