Which was more exciting – getting pizza or an award? At times it was hard to say.

Ask the question when youngsters from the Little Rock and Junior Curling Program were about to bite into a crust with delicious toppings, then pizza may have proved the most popular response.

Ask it when awards were being handed out, then the glowing smiles of the recipients would have said something else.

Besides, the feelgood factor of a prize lasts far longer than a pizza, doesn’t it?

The season-ending pizza party and awards night is always a thrilling occasion for the young curlers.

Scores of youngsters and their coaches packed the curling rink, near the Agrena, on Friday, March 2 to pose for a group photo on the ice.

Then they went upstairs where the junior teams were presented with awards. After the pizza party, prizes were given to all the Little Rock curlers.

Lori Bandola, program coordinator, said: “This year was a huge success with increased numbers in our junior league and the Little Rocks have developed their skills and will continue to move forward towards the juniors.

“I would like to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers.

“Everyone is looking forward to next year’s season.”

Junior and Little Rock curling program runs from November to the end of February. People can enroll during the Make The Connection event in September.
