TORONTO — Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:ABX). Energy. Down 36 cents, or 0.97 per cent, to $36.59 on 25.4 million shares.

TC Energy Corp. (TSX:TRP). Energy. Down $1.15, or 1.94 per cent, to $58.06 on 23 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Materials. Down 18 cents, or 0.92 per cent, to $19.48 on 20.4 million shares.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Energy. Down $2.18, or 3.42 per cent, to $61.54 on 13.6 million shares.

Scotiabank (TSX:BNS). Financials. Down $1.93, or 2.79 per cent, to $67.30 on 13.4 million shares.

Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX:LUN). Materials. Down 16 cents, or 2.48 per cent, to $6.28 on 12.6 million shares.

Companies in the news:

Scotiabank — The bank says chief executive Brian Porter will retire at the end of January next year. It says he will be replaced by Scott Thomson, currently president and chief executive of heavy equipment dealer Finning International Inc. Thomson has been a member of the Scotiabank board since 2016. He will retire from Finning on Nov. 15 and become president at Scotiabank starting on Dec. 1 before taking over as chief executive on Feb. 1, 2023. Porter joined Scotiabank in 1981 and became chief executive on Nov. 1, 2013.
