GATINEAU, Que. — Cam MacDonald scored what proved to be the winner as the Gatineau Olympiques topped the Moncton Wildcats 3-2 Wednesday and extended their win streak to four games.

Riley Kidney and Cole Cormier also scored for Gatineau (30-12-4-2). Francesco Lapenna had 33 saves in the victory.

Vincent Labelle and Natan Grenier replied for Moncton (22-21-0-2), which dropped its fourth in a row. Jacob Steinman stopped 35 shots.

MacDonald's marker 2:29 into the third period put the Olympiques up 3-1 before Labelle made it a one-goal game with 1:26 remaining in the contest.

Eriks Mateiko had a hat trick and Noah Reinhart added the others for Saint John (17-27-1-1). Ventsislav Shingarov stopped 32 shots.

Thomas Larouche, David Doucet, Nathan Drapeau and Vincent Fredette replied for Val-d'Or (19-27-2), which dropped its fourth in a row. William Blackburn made 24 saves.
