CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Jacob Newcombe scored twice, Thomas Bégin notched a goal and two assists and the Chicoutimi Saguenéens handed the Sherbrooke Phoenix their third straight loss with a 7-1 victory on Sunday.

Jeremy Leroux, Zachary Gravel, Fabrice Fortin and Maxim Massé provided the rest of the offence for Chicoutimi (16-14-1). Charles-Antoine Lavallée stopped 30 shots.

Anthony Munroe-Boucher scored once for Sherbrooke (19-9-1-2), and Samuel St-Hilaire made 27 saves.

Leroux scored the game's opening goal just 1:30 into the first period before Munroe-Boucher replied for the Phoenix at 12:20 of the frame to level the score.

But the Saguenéens turned the tide in the middle frame. Newcombe started a run of three unanswered goals and Chicoutimi added another three in the final period, capped by Newcombe.
