WHL Roundup: Blades, Thunderbirds prevail in high-scoring affairs

SASKATOON — Conner Roulette scored twice and contributed a pair of assists as his Saskatoon Blades earned a decisive 8-3 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers in Western Hockey League play on Tuesday.

Tanner Molendyk added a goal and two assists for the Blades (22-5-0), who stretched their win streak to seven games. Egor Sidorov, Vaughn Watterodt, Justin Lies, Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Brandon Lisowsky also scored. 

Brendan Lee, Oasiz Wiesblatt and Shane Smith replied for the Tigers (11-16-5). 

Ethan Chadwick made 31 saves for Saskatoon and Beckett Langkow stopped 19 shots for Medicine Hat.

THUNDERBIRDS 8 COUGARS 1

SEATTLE — Jordan Gustafson netted a hat trick as Seattle (21-4-2) trounced Prince George (14-15-1). Kyle Crnkovic scored twice for the Thunderbirds while Sam Popowich, Bryce Pickford and Nico Myatovic all added goals. Blake Eastman had the lone tally for the Cougars, who dropped their fifth straight game.

CHIEFS 5 WARRIORS 2

MOOSE JAW, SASK. — Carter Streek scored twice as Spokane (6-20-1) downed Moose Jaw (19-12-0). Tommaso De Luca added a pair of goals for the Chiefs, who snapped a four-game losing skid.
