BESUYEN, HENDRIK (HENRY)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving father, Henry Besuyen; husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Henry passed away peacefully at the Spruceview Lodge in Whitecourt, AB surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Henry was recently predeceased by his loving wife, Margaretha of 66 years! He will be greatly missed by his 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Ena Besuyen (Phil Coward), children; Tracie Maure (Jacques), Spencer Coward (Nichole), Ella Moffat (Keith), children; Jamie Moffat (Bryce Taron), Tammy Ulrich (Clayton) Tanya McDonald (Chad); Julie Nickel (Mike Burns), children; Greg Nickel (Katrina), David Nickel; Carla Harrison (Ron) children; Jessica (Fauque Trevor), Lyndsay Harrison; James Besuyen (Donna), children; Robin Smith (Sandra), Courtney Besuyen; Christine Pearce (Lindsay), son, Devin (Andy).

Henry is survived by his brother, Jacobus (Ko) Besuijen and his sister, Jacomina (Willum Westrate); his sister-in-laws, Eggie Besuijen, Nel Besuijen and brother-in-law Jan Jacobse (Lia) all who live in the Netherlands. Henry is also survived by many nieces and nephews from Canada and the Netherlands.

Henry was predeceased by his parents, Jacobus and Jozina Besuijen, brothers; Abraham (Brum), Willum (Bill), Pieter and Adrian (Adrie) Besuijen; his in-laws, Pieter and Pieternella (Nellie) Jacobse, sister-in-laws; Ria Metsemakers-Besuijen, Toni Haspels-Besuijen, Truse Belt-Besuijen and Nellie Jacobse-Kristalijn, also Rob Ambrose (grandson-in-law) and one great great granddaughter.

Henry loved gardening, fishing and golfing, his garden was his pride and joy next to his family! He also loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to Hawaii with Margaretha, he loved the warmth in the tropical sun and the great friends they made on all their adventures. He loved having the lake lot at Slave Lake, Bay Shore Resort, where they enjoyed many good fishing days.
