Tiny Brouwer

February 7, 1970 - April 30, 2025

Tiny Brouwer, born on February 7, 1970, in Holland to Sijtse and Akke DeVries, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025. She moved to Canada in August 1989 and married Pier Brouwer on May 26, 1995. Together, they raised their daughter Maria, born on October 8, 1999.

Tiny worked as a care aide at Keir Care Senior Center and later at the Buttercup restaurant. She was known for her big smile, contagious laugh, and big hugs. She spent many years helping Pier on the farm and dedicating herself fully to caring for her family.

She cared deeply for many of Maria’s friends and cousins, welcoming them into her home with warmth, making sure they always felt loved, well-fed, and like they truly belonged. Chocolate pancakes and bacon breakfasts were a regular sight after sleepovers. Even through ongoing health challenges, Tiny remained present - up early, driving to tournaments and practices, and always lending a hand to those around her.

Tiny is survived by her husband Pier and their daughter Maria, as well as her parents, Sijtse and Akke DeVries. She also leaves behind her brother Alle-Jan and his wife Andrea, her sister Anny and her husband Douwe, and her sister Thea and her husband Nanne. On Pier’s side of the family, Tiny is lovingly remembered by her mother-in-law Emmy and her father-in-law Siebe, as well as her brother-in-law Gerrit and his wife Willy, and her sister-in-law Atty and her husband Dave. She was a proud and devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She will be remembered for her warmth, selflessness, and the deep care she showed to everyone around her.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday May 9, 2025 from Barrhead Christian Reformed Church.
